Cryphonectria carpinicola sp. nov. Associated with hornbeam decline in Europe
نویسندگان
چکیده
Since the early 2000s, reports on declining hornbeam trees (Carpinus betulus) are spreading in Europe. Two fungi involved decline phenomenon: One is Anthostoma decipiens, but other etiological agent has not been identified yet. We examined morphology, phylogenetic position, and pathogenicity of yellow fungal isolates obtained from Austria, Georgia Switzerland, compared data with disease northern Italy documented since 2000s. Results demonstrate distinctive morphology monophyletic status Cryphonectria carpinicola sp. nov. as European decline. Interestingly, genus splits into two major clades. includes Cry. together radicalis, decipiens naterciae Europe, while comprises species known Asia-suggesting that developed at evolutionary centres, one Europe Asia Minor, East Asia. Pathogenicity studies confirm Car. betulus a host carpinicola. This clearly distinguished species, which mainly occur Castanea Quercus.

Six new Vibrio-like isolates originating from different species of bleached and healthy corals around Magnetic Island (Australia) were investigated using a polyphasic approach. Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA, recA and rpoA gene sequences split the isolates in two new groups. Strains LMG 22223(T), LMG 22224, LMG 22225, LMG 22226 and LMG 22227 were phylogenetic neighbours of Photobacteri...
متن کاملApiotrichum terrigenum sp. nov., a soil-associated yeast found in both the UK and mainland Europe
Five arthroconidium-producing yeast strains representing a novel Trichosporon-like species were independently isolated from the UK, Hungary and Norway. Two strains (Bio4T and Bio21) were isolated from biogas reactors used for processing grass silage, with a third strain (S8) was isolated from soil collected at the same UK site. Two additional strains were isolated in mainland Europe, one from s...

The taxonomic position of two bovine strains, LMG 13603 and LMG 14595, assigned to the species Enterococcus raffinosus on the basis of biochemical features, was reinvestigated. Both reference strains and two other isolates, 6/1 (=LMG 22829) originating from a charcoal-broiled river lamprey and IE38.4 (=LMG 22830) from the air of a poultry slaughter by-product processing plant, occupied a clearl...
